![]() Where the Skechers Go Golf Max Rover shoe really impress is in their performance. The wide lacing system also offers a lot of adjustability making this shoe a great if you struggle to find a golf shoe that offers comfort and support. I don’t know how much testing went into this design, but the result is one seriously comfy pair of golf shoes. The trainer like design also provides great comfort – the ultra-light sole has been combined with additional cushioning around the heel and arch. The Go Golf Rover shoe combines a lace up knit design with some water repellent tech making these golf shoes highly breathable, but still ideal when the ground is a little wet. So much so they are still my go-to golf shoe for practice and casual rounds of golf. After testing these out for over a month I’m please to report they are a seriously good golf shoe! But hey, maybe that’s just my personal style. The Go Golf Max Rover are Skechers offering for golfers looking for a high-performing spikeless golf shoe. Aesthetically, you can tell they’re Skechers from two fairways away, and upon further inspection, it becomes clear they’re also golf shoes. While it doesn’t affect performance, I’m a fan of traditional-looking golf shoes that almost disguise the brand. The other thing I’m not over the moon about is the style. They felt great on the bottom of my feet with every step, but I expected a little more comfort from the shoe’s upper. The cushioning of the Pro 5 Hyper is another nice benefit. I played from uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies in wet grass, and can honestly say I stayed balanced and connected to the ground on every shot. Again, testing the Pro 5 Hyper in muddy and wet conditions gave me the answer I needed: the traction is superior. Your other top priority should be how the shoe interacts with the turf. If you’re a shoulder-season golfer, particularly a walker (although these benefits extend to golfers who usually use a cart), this should be one of your top two priorities. My favorite element of these shoes was the fact that I tested them on two separate cold and soggy days in muddy conditions, but despite that, my socks and feet stayed warm, dry and comfortable while walking 18 holes. ![]() In my testing, the Pro 5 Hyper golf shoes really knocked it out of the park in these areas, which is why, despite a few things I think could be improved, I recommend any golfer searching for golf shoes to wear in any golf season, and for multiple golf seasons, consider the GO GOLF Pro 5 Hyper. Golf courses tend to be wet, whether or not it has rained recently, and a golf shoe’s primary function is to keep the golfer connected to the ground throughout every golf swing. On top of all that, they must perform in slippery conditions. I need to step into those soggy lies on the front nine with confidence that I’m not going to be scrounging through my trunk for a spare pair of socks at the turn. With all that being said, I need my golf shoe to be comfortable enough to get me through 18 holes on my feet, and the waterproofing needs to truly be waterproof. I prefer to walk, and I like to start my season early in the spring and play until those bitter late-fall days.
